Is Birnam Travel accredited?

Yes. Birnam Travel is IATA accredited, a member of ASATA (the Association of Southern African Travel Agents) and SATSA, and a member agency of the XL Travel group. It has managed corporate travel for over 25 years.

What does a corporate travel management company do?

A travel management company books and manages all of a business's work travel in one place. Instead of each employee booking on their own, the TMC applies the company's travel policy, uses negotiated airline, hotel and car hire rates, handles changes and emergencies, and gives finance one consolidated record of what was spent. Travellers call our emergency line on 011 887 2062, 24 hours a day. A consultant rebooks cancelled or missed flights, finds a hotel and updates the traveller's itinerary. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:30.

Can you enforce our company travel policy?

Yes. We build your policy into every booking: class of travel, hotel caps, advance-booking rules and who approves what. Out-of-policy requests are flagged before they are booked, not discovered on the statement.

What reporting do you give finance?

Travel spend reports by traveller, department and supplier, policy compliance, CO₂ figures and budget forecasts, delivered monthly or on demand.
